The second day of Brand Minds was memorable. From Simon Sinek to Tara Westover and Nick Vujicic, we got to listen to some of the greatest speakers in the business field. The event was live and most of the talks, interviews, and speeches are up on their platform until the 1st of November. I have to admit, I got hyped during the event. It had that dose of motivation that determines one to get productive and proactive.

Bozoma Saint John, the Chief Marketing Officer of Netflix, was on the line-up yesterday as well. Her energy and way of being were inspirational! Unfortunately, her moment wasn’t recorded. And because of that, I glued my ears to my laptop’s speakers from 7:30 pm to 8 pm. I didn’t want to miss any moment, as she shared many key takeaways. Among them, she mentioned about the 3 types of apps that should be present in every marketer’s phone:

  1. One to keep up with trends. From Instagram to Twitter, any app that helps you stay in touch with what is trendy today is useful.
  2. One to keep up with the news. As it’s important to always be informed about what’s happening around the world, any news app should do.
  3. One to keep up with your imagination. Creativity can strike out of nowhere. Thus, it’s important to have an app to write down your ideas anytime inspiration strikes.

As you can see, there are no specific apps mentioned. That’s because it doesn’t matter what app you use, as long as it fits the purpose. I know there are many amazing apps out there that have similar purposes and it might be hard to choose. But remember that every app resonates with different kinds of folks. Thus, there has to be one that makes that special click with you. So don’t stress out on using specific apps. Choose one for each category that resonates the best with you and make the most out of them.

Bozoma, among with the rest of the speakers, shared many insightful ideas that made me thankful for keeping the notes app always open. From marketing tips to business insights and motivational quotes, the content shared was always on-point. It was my most productive Saturday since the pandemic started, and I am very grateful for being a part of it!

P.S.: Let me know if you’ve taken part in the event, I’m curious what are your key takeaways from it!
